Privacy Policy
Applies to the CellPi and CellPi Light iOS apps. Effective 23 August 2026.
Short version: CellPi and CellPi Light do not collect, transmit, or sell your
personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. Everything you
measure stays on your device unless you choose to export it.
Who we are
CellPi and CellPi Light are developed by TeigenRF. This policy explains what the
apps access on your device and why.
Data we collect
We do not collect any personal data. The apps have no user accounts, no analytics SDKs,
no advertising, and no crash or usage reporting sent to us or any third party.
Information the apps use on your device
- Location (CellPi only). Used solely to place survey points on the map while you
walk or drive. It is stored inside your survey on the device and is never sent to us.
During an active survey the app may keep updating location while the screen is locked so
a mounted phone can keep logging; this stops when the survey stops.
- Camera / LiDAR (CellPi only, optional). Used only for indoor position tracking on
a floor plan. No images are stored or transmitted.
- Local network. Used to reach your own WLAN Pi over SSH on your local network, so
the app can run the scan. The apps connect only to the hardware you configure, not to any
server operated by us.
- Cellular measurements. Signal readings, operator, band and related radio data are
read from your own modem and stored in your survey on the device.
Where your data goes
Surveys and scans are saved locally on your device. They leave the device only when
you export or share them (for example a JSON, PCAP or ZIP file you send yourself or open
in the browser report tool). We never receive that data.
The browser report tool
The web report tool at cellpi.teigenrf.org runs entirely in your browser; the survey files
you open stay in your browser and are not uploaded to a server. To draw maps it loads map tiles
from OpenStreetMap / CARTO, and address search uses OpenStreetMap Nominatim. Those requests are
handled by those providers under their own terms.
Children
The apps are not directed at children and collect no personal data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective
date.
